The Vanishing Point

If you remember, I spoke on this blog about a nice young man called Danny Greet.
I told you about his solo career after being in a band called The Manhattan Project. Well, now Danny is back with 2 ex-members of the band and they are now The Vanishing Point.

I've been lucky enought to be able to see them playing their first gig in Leicester as a support band for Modern Faces and I can tell you that they should be signed by a label.

The Vanishing Point is composed by:
Danny Greet at the Vocals, Guitar and Bass
John Molnar at the Bass, Guitar and Vocals
Sid Barrett at the drums.

They're playing a good angry loud rock with a bit of pop and a few folk's bit hiding somewhere.

They only have 1 song to share with the world at the moment but will get more soon. You can have a listen to that song on their Soundcloud .

I'll tell you more about them later when they will get more to share . ;)

If you're in the Leicestershire's area, you can always see them at a gig as they're quite often on the bill of several venues in Leicester. :)
I will personnaly see them again at the Strawberry Fields Festival next weekend so if you're going, don't forget to have a listen at them on the friday!!!!!

Strawberry Fields Festival 2012

In few weeks, the Strawberry Fields Festival will "re-open" his doors for a 3rd edition. I've been able to be at this festival last year, but unfortunately (and because of the day job), only for the Saturday, that's why I didn't review what I saw there BUT it was a brilliant and great festival. I know that here, we hear more about Glastonbury, V Festival or Reading but there's a lot of other great festivals and Strawberry Fields Festival is one of them! This festival is becoming bigger each year and this year, it has an even more amzing line_up than last year.

By reading this blog, you know how the Leicestershire is important in my life and this festival has become the little point where I can have fun and see all my "lovers" sharing the stages! Oh yeah, they need to become more and more and more important and I know that maybe not next year, but soon, they will be named as one of the "NOT TO BE MISSED FESTIVAL".

At this year festival, you'll be please to see SuperEvolver , Modern Faces, MovE, Danny Greet's new band The Vanishing Point (I'll write soon about that new band), The Great KAV, The amazing Bibelots, Red 'n ' Pink, Raptusound, but also The Dash, KAROVA , By The River, Martha Makes Mistakes, Marner Brown, Buster Shuffles, FC-20, Preacher and The Bear, Young Knives, The Carpels, Kyla La Grange and Of course the legendary The Charlatans and Labrinth.

Danny Greet - More Than Faith

This MP3 have been recorded one afternoon where Danny was waiting for a singer/songwriter to work with. As she finally didn't turn up, he decided to do that own take on his band's song 'More Than Faith'. He never wrote the original, he says " sometimes you just get that itchy trigger finger".
Everything was played, recorded and mastered by himself.

Danny Greet

There is some artists that I discovered because they're the support band at a gig, some found me on Twitter, others were recommended by friends in the music industry, and most are friends of friends (musicians), this is how I know Danny Greet!
He is a good friend of MovE and I understood I had to have a listen at his work. I went to the Oxjam Festival in Leicester to see Move and others and Danny was playing too so I went to see him and yeah I was quite happy to be there and finally have a live listen at him!

Danny is the singer/guitarist of the band The Manhattan Project, but unfortunatelly, they couldn't play together for a while cos their bassist had a bad problem of "broken bones" ... Twice...
Danny finally decided to play on his own. He is still at the beginning of his new solo artist's career, so unfortunatelly I can't give you link to listen to his own stuff but you can have a listen to the song of The Manhattan Project on their Myspace or on their Facebook. During his gig, Danny plays his own new songs but also some of the songs of the band.

He sounds like a pop/rock/folk acoustic musician with some anger coming from his belly. I've seen/heard him once and I never heard any wrong note. Danny is a great and good musician who deserve to be followed.

You can hear 2 of his songs live in the following videos:
