Dear Poppyseed, A Soulful Momma's Pregnancy Journal

As I already wrote here,Dear Poppyseed is the 3rd and last book by the english author Alice Grist . If you already read her 2 first books, this one is completely different, it's no more a guide and no more high heels! The sweet Alice has become a mummy and this 3rd book is her personal journal about her pregnancy, a kind of very long letter to her unborn baby.

By reading this book, you follow Alice from the beginning of her pregnancy till the birth and all the procedure that a birth occur. This book is, of course, a perfect book for all the mums in the world who would like to remember how the love for this unborn child increased from day to day and how a future momma keeps asking herself tonz of questions. This book is also perfect for the mum to be because Alice might answer some of your questions withouth even knowing it, and also if you are the only pregnant woman in your pack then Alice could represent a kind friend by your side. BUT if, like me, you're the single woman that still don't know if you're become a mum one day, this book is a kind of answer to a lot of questions!

Before starting reading this book, I was still wondering to myself "if tomorrow I finally, find the perfect man who would love me ( Not sure he exists! ), would i want to become a mum or not?". Im one of those girls who, when I was a child, I was sure I would do like all the women in my family : get married at 20 and become a mum before my 25. But it didn't happen like this and I started to freak out, everytime I saw or heard about someone getting married or being pregnant, the 1st thing I thought was "how old is she? .I became obsessed with that but for only one reason, I was alone and with no chance to know if my childhood's dream would become reality. When I celebrate my 25, I suddenly realized that I wasn't sure to want a baby because I don't know if I would be a good mum. Since then, I became a aunt and then thought that it's cool to be with a kid and play with this kid but it's also quite cool to give back the kid to the parents and to be free of doing what I want. Well I have a dog, as I can't have a human daughter, I have a doggy daughter and she's as grumpy as I am so as much as I love my niece, I also realized that having a baby is also getting a mini you. 
Alice's book made me realized one thing : having a baby is becoming a real adult! You still can be free to do what you want but now you have the responsibility of another person, a small person. And getting a baby with the love of your life is also a proof of love, this little human will be the "reunion of 2 families". 
That's also funny, because despite of Alice, I have another friend who had a baby girl (this year) and when you talk about pregnancy with her, she won't do it again. But my sister in law used to said the same thing (and she lived the same thing about the birthing (plus a C section)) but 5 years later, I had a 2nd niece. 

What can I tell you, this book makes you realized that no matter how old you are, you just need to be ready to become a parent, to be ready and to be with the good person. Alice also made all men realized that a pregnancy brings a lot of contradictions in the feelings of a pregnant woman, because even if everybody says it, I think that seeing this written on a white page would make some of the males understand that pregnancy is not always fun! And it's good to see that someone who is usually a proud rocker can become a very emotional dad who get the house ready for the little one. 

I met the little poppyseed twice and I can tell you that she's already a smart little person. 

So if you're still wondering what you want in life with your loved one, I think you should read this book and talk about it to your women friends and why not to the future dads you have in your area!!!

The Filter is taken from our forthcoming acoustic EP ‘Healing Breaks’ (released in the autumn in Leicester) and will be promoted vigorously on our first UK TOUR lined up for Aug/Sept/Oct/Nov which sees the band play in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Liverpool, Manchester, Nottingham, London and more. Dear Poppyseed!

Today , July the 26th is the due date to the release of my friend's Alice Grist's 3rd and new book "Dear Poppyseed, A Soulful Momma's Pregnancy journal " .

No more High Heeled Guide, she's now talking about the journey that was her pregnancy and don't be fool, even when you're like me a "non-mama" (and if like me you think you might never become a mama), you still can buy it. 
I had the book in advance cos I pre-ordered it as soon as you could pre-order it but sadly because of work and more I haven't finished it yet but I WILL do a review of it, things i haven't done for her first 2 books :  The high heeled Guide To Enlightenment , The High Heeled Guide To Spiritual Living. Why? Cos I think I need to give a reason to the non-mama to buy and read this book.

Side projects of Belle Histoire

Some members of Belle Histoire have now a "side project". To be honest, im a little bit late to announce you that but I had some problems so the blogs were on hold...


Let's begin by Jane and her project called DECKER.

Decker is the solo project of Jane. She started this side project in March of this year, just after showing us that she could work without "her" boys, she also appeared in the US The Voice but hasn't been taken in any of the team. (Another proof, for me, that those shows can be so wrong because none of Usher, Adam Levine, Shakira or Blake Shelton could have seen her talent!!!).  Im not the only who think that because you can find Jane in This Article about the 10 most-robbed contestants of The Voice..

On the Decker's side, you can download on Itunes the 1st EP called Clean Hands ,  you'll get 6 indie, pop/rock , acoustic songs. There is still a folk sound hide inside each songs. But most of all, the voice of Jane is more mature than it was at the very beginning of Belle Histoire.  
Clean Hands Ep is wonderful for a chill out moment, take a sit in a confortable sofa, take a cold tea, take a good book and press play, you'll spend a lovely time with Jane's voice in the background.

From the 20th to the 30th of June Decker will be on Tour in the States. 

The other member of Belle Histoire who started a solo project is the guitarist and keyboard player, Austin Livingood.

Austin also started his solo project in March, using a lot of suspens with words and pictures, on the facebook page or on instagram! Austin knows how to create the curiosity of his friends and fans. 



For the moment, you can download only 1 song, 1 single from Austin but honestly, since I did, Im already excited to hear more songs! I can't tell you that the future is going to be good for Austin Livingood. 
This song is called Nashville and is a very dynamic folk/rock song. Full of strong guitar, good riffs and an omnipresent drummer. 
You can stop your foot or shoulder to move in rhythm. 
When I used to hear his voice in the backing vocals of Belle Histoire, i couldn't imagine that Austin has such a strong voice.

Bibelots -Devil's Highway- Official Video.

You can, now, found on Youtube, the official video for Bibelots song Devil's highway, a song, I think, I know by heart since the 1st time I heard it many many manyyyyyy months ago (or should I say years ago? ) . This song will be part of a new EP that will be release on the 03/06/2013!

If you already saw SuperEvolver live, you know most of the songs. The 1st one of this EP is my favorite,  it has been from the very beginning, I heard it with different mixes and everytime I fall in love again and again with this song! 
Ivy is a beautiful song inspired by Mab's granny whose name was Ivy and the artwork is a beautiful old picture of her.
In 2009, the band received an Exposure Music Award with Cartoon Killers as the best rock song and you'll get why after the 1st listen.

In this EP, you'll have a lot of  rock'n'roll song with a little pinch of Hip-Hop, some electro and a perfect voice. 
The only advice I can give you is to buy this EP and spread the love for them!

My favorite trio from Leicester has released a new video with an exclusive new song name Pure .

This new song is so like its title, so pure and new! 

This "poppy" song is full a new vibe from Little Night Terrors, pop but with still a little taste of rock'n'roll. 

Don't tell you me you don't wanna move your head in rhythm, or play a bit of Air-Drums AND sing the chorus with Andy!!!
