People of the world, KAV has released his new single and the new video for this one this week.
In the video for Lonely Men, you can find KAV as a monk (or sort of) BUT be careful cos there is some violence toward a poor guitar. Don't worry, I took some news and the guitar is fine!
:)
The song will be soon available to buy on itunes and co...
One year ago, Kav was introducing the videoclip for his song Dirty Reject featuring Rick Genest aka Zombie boy aka Rico the Zombie
In April, Kav announced that his next single was featuring in the teaser of the Aaron Paul's new movie Decoding Annie Parker. In this short video you can see Aaron Paul dancing on this song.
On May the 7th, Kav was playing a gig in West Hollywood at The Viper Room, yes the famous Viper Room, with Bonehead (ex-Oasis) on guitar, Alex Lipinsky (a young singer/songwriter/musician from Weston-Super-Mare, Somerset) and with Aria (the singer/guitarist and keyboardist of Some Go Haunting (a young band from LA).
I never been to LA or West Hollywood or anywhere in the US, but I know that playing the Viper Room is something every single musicians should live once in their life!
AND today was the D-Day for the release of the video for the very new single by KAV, the one you saw Aaron Paul dancing on. Now you can dance on Dance in A Panic too!
In this video you can see and feel the influence of the MODS in Kav's life. I must admit that this song always makes me want to dance a twist!!!!
Im sorry, Im a little bit late to post this "news"but when the pc is dead, the only solution you have is .... wait!!! So, Just to show you that the video for the 2nd single taken from Kav's forthcoming album has been released in August. The single, King of The World (The Undefeated Champion), will be released this month (September) . The video has been shot and directed by Martin J Pickering and is starring 2 Pro Figthers Lee Coville and Jarek Maryszczak. You'll find the usual characteristic rock and the amazing voice of Kav.
Yesterday an amazing news has been announced ; KAVis gonna open for Kasabian at the 02 Brixton Academy's sold out gig in August the 20th.
But he and his band won't be the only support band. Alongside KAV, the other support act is the famous Band of Skulls, a band I love from their very beginning and I've been lucky enough to see them everytime they were in Paris.
I hope this gig will bring a lot of good and positives things toKAV. Im just very sad I won't be able to be there....
In few weeks, the Strawberry Fields Festival will "re-open" his doors for a 3rd edition. I've been able to be at this festival last year, but unfortunately (and because of the day job), only for the Saturday, that's why I didn't review what I saw there BUT it was a brilliant and great festival. I know that here, we hear more about Glastonbury, V Festival or Reading but there's a lot of other great festivals and Strawberry Fields Festival is one of them! This festival is becoming bigger each year and this year, it has an even more amzing line_up than last year.
By reading this blog, you know how the Leicestershire is important in my life and this festival has become the little point where I can have fun and see all my "lovers" sharing the stages! Oh yeah, they need to become more and more and more important and I know that maybe not next year, but soon, they will be named as one of the "NOT TO BE MISSED FESTIVAL".
I discovered Kav many years ago when he joined, in 2004, the band Happy Mondays , a band I love since when I was a kid. With this band, he co-write the last album "Uncle Dysfunktional" and the song "Playground Superstar".
Previously, he was in a band called A.K.A.Weave with who he toured the UK, after that he co-launched the club night "Getloaded" at London's Turnmills nightclub. This was the start of a partnership with Turnmills MD and House promoter Danny Newman. Over the next 18 months, Sandhu brought various musicians to "Getloaded", including Factory Records boss Tony Wilson, Howard Marks (Mr Nice), Clint Boon (Inspiral Carpets/ XFM) Peter Hook (New Order/ Joy Division), Annie Mac (Radio 1), Steve Lamacq (Radio 1/ 6Music), Carl Barat (Libertines/ Dirty Pretty Things) Beta Band, Andy Rourke and Mike Joyce (The Smiths), The Farm, Client, and El Presidente. (cf wikipedia!!! )
Kav Launched his solo project in 2008 and the first EP came quite quickly in April of the same year. The EP called "Blaggers N' Liars"received lots of good reviews and Kav get compared to a young Bob Dylan addicted to sleaze.
In November 2010, KAV released 'The Mr Nice EP' featuring British legend Howard Marks. This EP surrounding Howard's biopic film 'Mr Nice' starring Rhys Ifans ( one of my fave actor!!) & Chloë Sevigny.
During the years 2010/2011, KAV toured around the US, because Kav is from Leicester (another one! :) ) but now he used to share his life between the US, London and Leicester. He even played at SXSW in 2010 but also at the Viper Room in July 2011. He recorded his first album in Los-Angeles, this album will be released in a studio version but also in a live version. This album will be officially released in March 2012.
